11/12.5.44. Attacking Burg Leopold, the crew had a brisk combat with a fighter and the A/C was badly damaged and the bomb load couldn’t be released. They reached England and 5 of the crew bailed out over Colby near Waddington and the pilot and engineer then landed the Lancaster with most of the bomb load still on.

22/23.5.44 Attacking Brunswick the A/C was hit by heavy flak and P/O Thurecht was wounded.

2.8.44. Their A/C was again hit by flak and damaged.
