Gerald Patrick Godwin A401845 and crew posted to 467 Sq 4.5.43, gazetted DFC 19.10.43. KIA after 27 ops 23.10.43.

During the attack on Remscheld 30/31.7.43 they were attacked by a night fighter and the A/C sustained severe damage before the gunners drove it off. They continued the attack and obtained an excellent bombing photo.

Attacking Milan 15/16.8.43 1 engine failed and it was necessary to drop part of the load to obtain height to cross the alps, with great courage the crew completed the attack.
