F/O Vin Conaghty and crew posted to 467 Sq. 7.1.45. 16 ops to 8.5.45. They had their share of excitement, 14/15.3.45 on the op to Lutzendorf their A/C was hit by flak and badly damaged but no crew were injured. |

22.3.45 on the op to Bremen they were again hit by heavy predicted flak and badly damaged, the pilot and flight engineer were wounded, the pilot gave the order to abandon the A/C but before the crew had left the A/C he recovered consciousness and regained control of the A/C and cancelled the order to abandon. They reached Waddington under difficulties. The flight engineer was severely injured. |
