F/O Vin Conaghty and crew posted to 467 Sq. 7.1.45. 16 ops to 8.5.45. They had their share of excitement, 14/15.3.45 on the op to Lutzendorf their A/C was hit by flak and badly damaged but no crew were injured.

22.3.45 on the op to Bremen they were again hit by heavy predicted flak and badly damaged, the pilot and flight engineer were wounded, the pilot gave the order to abandon the A/C but before the crew had left the A/C he recovered consciousness and regained control of the A/C and cancelled the order to abandon. They reached Waddington under difficulties. The flight engineer was severely injured.
