A/C recalled to base before reaching target

2.8.44 Bois De Cassan ME853 Missing

P/O Bradley.A.R. and crew were posted to 467 Sq 31.7.44, their first op on 1.8.44 was recalled before the A/C reached the enemy coast, on the next op to Bois Be Cassan in daylight they were damaged by bombs dropped from above, other crews from 467 saw the bombs shear off one wing and the A/C out of controll collided with another A/C and both crashed, no parachutes were seen from either A/C . Collided with ND346 PO.E. flown by F/O Dyer and crew. Information from John Klye’s logbook. Ross Melville’s Crew witnessed the incident.
