S/L Desmond Joseph Sullivan DSO. AM. DFC. 1st tour 467 Sq March 1943 to December 1943. 2nd tour 463 Sq Flight Commander 16.7.44 to 8.5.45.

On the op to Ems Wesser Canal 6/7.11.44. The report states that the crew did not bomb they were ordered to return to base by the controller. The A/C had suffered some flak damage and they were diverted to the crash airdrome in Seething. The A/C under shot the runway and was a write off. No crew were injured. The A/C Crash landed with 14700 lbs of High Explosives onboard.
