F/L Smith.E.A.L. and crew came from 619 Sq to 463 Sq on formation It is not listed in ORBs if they were operational but it’s very likely they were.

There are several errors in Orbs regarding this crew. F/S Pike was the rear gunner and from 11.6.44 he didn’t fly with the crew again and his place was made up from the gunnery leaders and odd bods. He later flew with G/C Bonham Carter, and finally returned for a 2nd tour with Alec Vowels 20.4.45. F/S Jones took F/S Tench’s place at the last minute on 21/22.6.44. Although F/S Tench is listed in Orbs as in the crew when lost.
