F/O Reilly.K.W and crew had a hard tour for their 16 ops before being shot down and KIA.
They rarely flew the same A/C for more than 2 ops and were damaged several times.
27/28.9.44. On the op to Kaiserlautern they were hit by heavy flak and lost an engine.
23.10.44. Their A/C suffered major flak damage over Flushing and they were obliged to jettison the load to keep the A/C airborne and only reached base after jettisoning every movable fitting. The A/C was a cat A/C and after repair it was involved in a collision with a Hurricane and crashed near Metheringham.
1.11.44. Their A/C again was hit by heavy flak over Hamberg.
4.11.44. They were shot down over Dortmund Ems Canal and all KIA.
