W/O Dixon’s report, The A/C was hit by heavy flack and on fire, the pilot ordered abandon the A/C, W/O Dixon and Sgt Freeman bailed out, the A/C then exploded and no more parachutes were seen. The A/C was then over Weert Holland.

F/O Pedersen. was posted to 467 Sq 29.9.44 and flew 8 ops there until 4.11.44 He was then in hospital and it is not certain what became of his crew, when he returned to 467 Sq he was posted to 463 Sq with F/O Eagle’s headless crew. F/O Eagle was lost on his 2nd pilot trip to Siegen with F/L Livingstone 1.2.45 The reconstituted crew were on their 3d op with 463 Sq when they were shot down.
