F/O Martin.J.F. and crew had done 8 ops in 17 days of June 1944. The squadron was working to the limit in support of the invasion and until 25th June they had no troubles.

The op to Prouville on 25 June 44 cost 463 Sq 3 A/C and crews and also cost 467 Sq 2 A/C and crews with 35 men lost in one operation lasting less than 1 hour over enemy territory.
