W/C Keith Kemp was posted to 463 as C/O to succeed Bill Forbes 17.1.45 after Bill Forbes was KIA. He took over and carried on till 30.7.45. |

After taking over command of 463 Sq on 22.2.45 Keith Kemp led several raids over Germany, the most notable was the daylight raid on Hamburg 9.4.45 in which the enemy used a strong force of ME262 Jet fighters |

His first and second tours were with and in command of No 2 SQ and No 13 SQ operating from Darwin with Hudson A/C |

|
He was awarded an immediate DFC for leading the attack on DOBO in the Aru group on 3.3.43. He later shot down a Japanese A/C with the front guns of his Hudson bomber. |

|
He later commanded the reformed No 13 Sq at Cooktown North Queensland flying Ventura bombers. |
