F/L  Hattam.R.F. DFC and crew flew their tour almost entirely in LM13O JO.N called "Nick The Nazi Neutraliser" and Harry Eastgate’s A/C. It finally collided with a Hurricane on fighter affiliation and crashed near Metheringham.

21/22.6.44. In the op to Gelsenkirchen LM13O was hit by flak and Sgt Hamblin the Bomb Aimer was severely wounded. A heavy shell passed right through the inboard wing.

After 36 ops to 26.10.44 F/O R.F. Hattam DFC was posted to No 5 LPS. He returned for a 2nd tour 31.3.45 to 14.6 .45 then tiger force with 467 17.5.45 to 8.9.45
