Orbs list F/O Dack DFC as flying LM223 on 5.10.44 to Wilhelmshaven the day LM223 was lost.

5.8.44. To St Leu-d’Esserent the starboard inner engine gave trouble and was feathered John Dack carried on and completed the op on 3 engines.

The op to Flushing 23.10.44 was to be the last for John Dack DFC and crew in fact the tour of ops had been reduced to 30 before they took of but as they were leading the Sq they elected to go.
