S-Sugar

The most famous of all the Lancasters. S-Sugar is now interred at the Hendon Museum.

I have devoted a page to this Lancaster because my father, Max Johnson, flew the R5868, S-Sugar. I recently visited Hendon Museum where S-Sugar resides and it was a very emotional visit.

I also met with Ted Willouby and his son Martin. Ted is the man who discovered R5868 and restored her to her former glory.
